Hello, my name is Janice.
I live in County Durham surrounded by breath-taking countryside. My work is heavily influenced by the beauty of the pastures, flowers and coastline of North East England.
Painting with wool
I am a textile artist, using the technique of wet and nuno felting. My love for embroidery came from my grandmother, who taught me to sew when I was child. It was much later in my life that I discovered ‘Painting with Wool’. Having had no formal art training, I combined felting; my love for embroidery and my passion for colour to create my unique, original artwork.
Sustainability and responsibility
I am proud to source my Merino wool only from reputable suppliers. For my silks I recycle and reuse threads from sari silks and mulberry silk fibres.
Exhibitions
My work is regularly displayed and sold in local shops and galleries. I enjoy local craft events, art shows, workshops and am constantly learning.
